18 Countries Endorse Global AI Security Guidelines
The United Kingdom has recently published the world’s first global guidelines for securing AI systems against cyberattacks, developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the United States. These guidelines aim to ensure that AI technology is developed safely and securely.
The guidelines recommend incorporating cybersecurity at every stage of AI development, deployment, and ongoing operations. They cover four key areas: secure design, secure development, secure deployment, and secure operation and maintenance.
In addition, the guidelines have received endorsements from 17 countries, including all G7 members. The launch event brought together industry and government representatives from the UK, US, Canada, Germany, and other countries to emphasize the importance of proactive security amidst AI’s rapid development.

The UK’s Science and Technology Secretary Michelle Donelan highlighted the importance of these guidelines, positioning the UK as an international standard bearer on the safe use of AI.
